The transformation

Guessing in the dark, to a path that fits.

Where she started

Over a year stuck, knowing something was wrong, scanning job after job with nothing standing out and no idea what the change even was.

Where she is now

Clear on her values and what she stands for, moving from PR towards people-related work, with opportunities and support opening up around her.

Where she was

Loved the work, but knew it was wrong.

Alice was a senior account director at a PR agency. She had loved the industry, and the people, but for a long time she knew something was not right and it was not making her happy. "I was looking at jobs to apply, and none of them were standing out as something I wanted to do."

At her most stuck, she dug out an old careers book from school and went through it, A to Z, "trying to work out if any of those fit me... just trying to throw something out there and see what stuck. And it wasn't working at all."

How it changed

Reconnect, reimagine, reposition, reinvent.

01

Reconnect

Disconnected → Aligned

The turn came from the inside, not the job boards. "My frustration and anger and complete lack of direction changed when I started to understand my personality type, my values, what I stood for. That guided me towards the path that felt more aligned."

02

Reimagine

Uncertain → Clear

For the first time the direction was not a guess. Alice could see a path that fit, away from PR and towards more people-related work, chosen because it matched who she is rather than because it was the next thing on a list.

03

Reposition

Overlooked → Valued

Then she did the brave part. She told people. "The minute I took action and spoke to my network about my intentions, lots of opportunities came up, and everybody was so supportive." The change she had been hiding became the thing that opened doors.

04

Reinvent

Stuck → Thriving

The change Alice had been dreading turned out to be nothing like she feared. "I thought it was a scary change and everything was going to go wrong. It was the complete opposite of that." She is making the move she could not even name a year earlier, with momentum and people behind her.

In her words
"I knew something wasn't right. I'd recommend this for anybody who feels even a bit lost and wants to understand themselves and their path. I am so glad I embarked on it."
